Setup Cloud Sync

Setting up Cloud Sync

To activate Cloud Sync on your first device:

  1. Go to Settings > Cloud & Account
  2. Tap on Use Cloud Sync
  3. A setup dialog will appear with two options:
    • Join existing Cloud Sync: If you already have Cloud Sync on another device
    • Start the Cloud Sync: To set up Cloud Sync for the first time
  4. Select Start the Cloud Sync
  5. Choose whether to include your data in community statistics
  6. Tap Create

Your app will transfer a copy of your data to the server.

After creating your Cloud Sync, you can optionally link a DiapStash account from the Cloud & Account settings page. This allows you to easily retrieve your Cloud Sync on a new device. An account is also required if you want to use external services that integrate with the DiapStash API.

Connect another device

It is strongly recommended to join a cloud sync from an application without data. Otherwise, the data from the cloud sync and the device to be synchronized will be merged.

On the device that needs to join the cloud sync:

  1. Go to Settings > Cloud & Account
  2. Tap on Use Cloud Sync
  3. Select Join existing Cloud Sync
  4. Choose one of the three methods below

With DiapStash Account

If you have linked your Cloud Sync to a DiapStash account, you can use the shortcut:

  1. Go to Settings > Cloud & Account
  2. Tap on Login with account
  3. Log in with your DiapStash account credentials
  4. The join process starts automatically — your Cloud Sync will be retrieved and connected

If a previously linked Cloud Sync is detected after login, a Rejoin option will appear directly on the Cloud & Account settings page.

Alternatively, from the "Join existing Cloud Sync" dialog, select Login with account.

With QR Code

  1. On the device with cloud sync enabled:
    • Go to Settings > Cloud & Account
    • Select Sync with another device
    • A QR code will be displayed
  2. On the device that needs to join:
    • Select Scan QR code
    • Scan the QR code from the first device

With Cloud Sync link

  1. On the device with cloud sync enabled:
    • Go to Settings > Cloud & Account
    • Select Share the Cloud Sync link or Copy the Cloud Sync link
    • Transfer the link to the second device
  2. On the device that needs to join:
    • Simply open the Cloud Sync link. If DiapStash is installed, the app will open automatically with a prompt to join the Cloud Sync.
    • If the app doesn't open, go to Settings > Cloud & Account, select Use link and paste the Cloud Sync link
